Ever deal with that annoying pearlescence or thin walls in your PET bottles? It’s a headache. Usually, it happens because your KHS machine isn’t heating things evenly. When your lamps can’t hold a steady thermal field, you’re fighting a losing battle. Most of the time, the culprit is just bad spectral output or a filament that isn’t sitting where it should. Why the Heat Goes Wonky
It all comes down to wattage density across that quartz tube. If a lamp flickers or fluctuates, you get “hot spots.” Some parts of your PET preform get scorched while others stay cold. We use a refined halogen cycle to keep the filament dead-center. Cheap tubes tend to “sag,” which ruins the angle of the infrared radiation. Our tubes stay put, so the heat hits the preform exactly where the oven was designed to aim it.
Swapping Them Out
These are simple drop-in replacements. We match your existing voltage and wattage so you don’t fry your power supplies. Plus, we use standard industrial connectors. You just wire them up to your current sockets and you’re good to go. We also use high-purity quartz glass, because these things take a beating with all that rapid heating and cooling.
The Real-World Stuff
Here’s the thing: if you crank up the heat density to speed up your line, you’re putting more stress on the glass. If you decide to push the wattage for more throughput, keep a close eye on your ventilation. If your cooling blowers can’t handle the extra heat, your lamps will burn out early—or worse, you’ll warp your reflector panels. And for heaven’s sake, make sure they’re aligned. Even a tiny 2mm shift in how the lamp sits can throw your whole heat distribution off. It’s a small detail, but it’s everything.
